The $505,000 expansion at Innovative Poultry Products LLC in Olar is expected to create 10 jobs. The company manufacturers and distributes equipment for poultry farmers. 

Winners of state reading competition announced

A third-grader from Darlington and a fourth-grader from Greenville were selected as the winners of the S.C. Department of Education’s 2019 Read Your Way to the Big Game contest. The contest promotes literacy through athletics.

Newberry County boat-makers making a bigger splash

Falcon Boats, which began operation in 2015, reported a production growth rate of 141.6% in 2018. As of November, the company had matched its 2018 production numbers. The Newberry County-based company employs 30 people. 

Sumter County manufacturer plans $26M expansion

Bearing manufacturer SKF says increased demand led to a $26 million expansion of its Sumter County facilities that is expected to create 10 jobs. 

World AIDS Day event set for Monday at Statehouse

The daylong event will include information booths and a storytelling event featuring S.C. residents affected by HIV. Nearly 20,000 South Carolinians are living with diagnosed HIV infection, according to DHEC.
