Legislation & Regulation
Raphael Bostic, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, stressed the need for a "slow and steady" approach to interest rate hikes and signaled support for two more 25-basis-point increases before a pause. Separately, Fed Governor Christopher Waller said the central bank would need to raise rates above previously anticipated levels if consumer spending and a strong labor market continue.
