Forecasters warn that a potentially dangerous cold front is headed towards the Baton Rouge region, with freezing rain or even the dreaded "wintry mix" possible.

LSU helping put a camera on the moon

Taking pictures of stars and planets from the moon has a lot of benefits over doing it on Earth. First, there's little atmosphere to interfere. Second, a lunar day lasts roughly 14 Earth days. 

But, as you can imagine, gathering data from the moon isn't easy to do. 

This team of LSU professors and students is playing a big role in a mission to launch a specially-designed moon camera. This story explains how it works.
