At the start of the second week of Advent, we hear about John the Baptist's foretelling of the coming of Christ and his baptisms of people in the Jordan river.
I often find myself rolling my eyes a bit whenever I hear the Christmas song “Silent Night” during this time of year. Silent nights have been very few and far between in our house for the past 21 years.
