President Donald Trump will attend an in-person event Saturday on the South Lawn of the White House around a week after he was airlifted to Walter Reed hospital to treat his coronavirus symptoms, according to multiple reports.
Trump will speak from a White House balcony, ABC News reported Friday, citing two unnamed sources familiar with the plans.
He is expected to deliver remarks “to peaceful protesters for law and order,” according to an invitation obtained by ABC. Hundreds of people are expected at the event, The New York Times reported.
Trump revealed last Friday that he was positive for COVID-19 just hours after a close aide, Hope Hicks, said she had come down with the virus. He was flown to the presidential hospital suite Friday evening for symptoms that included a fever and difficulty breathing, but checked himself out three days later to return to the White House ― putting staff there at risk. |
