View email online | | | | | | | Jan 29, 2021 | | | | | | Good afternoon and welcome to Friday, Today we have put the plight of parents first and forefront, many battling feelings of guilt and inadequacy with home schooling and juggling children and work. It's a really tough time and you are all doing a fab job - but everyone is feeling it. It's also becoming abundantly clear that there are haves and have nots - some children have been unable to access online schooling due to lack of access to internet. We are doing something about this by teaming up with some of our normally rival publishers to launch the Cash for Connectivity campaign. If you feel you can donate to help some of the most vulnerable children in Lancashire get connected, please do. We of course have the latest coronavirus figures to hand, another 6,777 people tested positive across the North west in the last 24 hours. But in fantastic news, the Novavax Covid-19 vaccine, trialled in the resort at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and Layton Medical Centre, has passed UK tests. The vaccine has demonstrated 89.3 per cent efficacy in its UK phase three trial. Many Lancastrians were involved in the trials so thankyou to all those who helped make this happen. I hope you have a great weekend, I'll catch up with you all on Monday. As always stay safe! Kind regards, Nicola Thanks for reading.
