Price Of Jet-A Declines In January 2024, Survey Shows

The U.S. average price of Jet-A fuel declined 24 cents a gallon in January compared to December 2023, with an average cost of $6.82 a gallon, according to a survey of more than 200 FBOs by the Aviation Research Group.

AOPA Releases New Video On Combating Icing Conditions

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Air Safety Institute (ASI) published a new entry of its Beyond Proficient: IFR series, tackling ways to mitigate icing risks in flight. The video series is made through collaboration with FlightInsight, an online aviation training platform, to provide lifesaving advice for aircraft pilots and operators. To avoid ice-related incidents, ASI Senior Director Paul Deres advises pilots to “diligently study current aviation weather observations and aviation weather product forecasts that can alert us to potential icing threats.”
