Sally Lytle has lived among the hills of Northeast Ohio her entire life. The trees, creeks and roads around her Paris, Ohio studio home are filled with stories of wonder and beauty, captured on Sally's canvases in regular plein-air sessions. Armed with a BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art, Sally began her career as a graphic designer but quickly gravitated toward creating her own fine art.
Since she was a young girl on her parent's farm, art and horses have been the most important things in her life. For a number of years she pursued dual careers as fine artist and thoroughbred racing jockey. It is not as odd a pairing as it may look at first glance. Both careers were built on Sally's passion. However, her career as a jockey proved more threatening to life and limb than her career as a fine artist.
Today, Sally lives a quieter life on her Paris acreage surrounded by the beauty of the woods, woodland critters and her horses. A joyful day still remains a good ride and a long plein air painting session. Though today she rides with long stirrups and a far more leisurely gait than her racing days. She still paints at a frenetic pace creating beautiful art in a style that can only be described as Sally Lytle. She invites you to wander through this site and enjoy. |
