It was a council issue mired in controversy, chaos and rubbish. On this day in 1986, The Canberra Times reported on the Queanbeyan City Council's decision to restrict use of the city's rubbish tip to Queanbeyan residents. Designed to cater for the smaller population of Queanbeyan, the tip had become inundated with rubbish from the ACT.
