On a roll: Man fails security check with unusual bathroom item

Packing for the airport is never easy. Most essential travel items need smaller bottles to qualify, and you can’t stuff too much in your suitcase without having to pay for it. So what’s a person to do when their novelty toilet paper roll triggers a police response at the airport? Well, that’s exactly what happened to one traveler at Newark, who was pulled aside after X-ray scanners found what appeared to be a gun in his bag. After demanding he open his bag, the TSA agents saw the item wasn’t a gun at all, but a replica pistol with a chamber that serves as a toilet paper roll. The man was asked whether he’d want to check the item in or surrender it, and he ended up choosing the latter — but you have to give him credit for trying. You miss every shot you don’t take, right?
