Closing time: Atomico's fifth fund to focus on Europe

It's all about fundraising this week as we report on several fund closings including Atomico's fifth offering at USD820 million. Private Equity Wire's Karin Wasteson finds out from Camilla Richards, partner and head of investor relations, how the firm has “increased its focus over the years to really double down its efforts in Europe.”

According to Richards, the fund will target companies that facilitate “transformational change,” within sectors including healthcare, the technology to transform the way we grow our food, to housing, and every aspect of technology.

Another fund in the spotlight this week is Israeli VC firm Grove Ventures' second offering, which has closed at USD120 million, and will look to back early-stage deep technology startups looking to gain traction in European and US markets.

We also have news of  Align Capital Partners' USD450 million Fund II, plus Pamlico Capital's fifth fund which has secured USD1.4 billion in capital commitments and will focus on equity and buyout opportunities within the business and technology services, communications and healthcare sectors in North America.
