Boadicea the Victorious are proud to sponsor Benali's Big Ball 3

In many respects Francis Benali is akin to our namesake Queen Boadicea – he is fearless, determined, inspiring and utterly devoted to a worthy cause. Therefore, it was an easy decision to sponsor his ‘Big Ball’ for the second year. Francis Benali has selflessly raised over 1 million pounds for Cancer Research UK, enduring 3 epic challenges, not to mention recently receiving an MBE on the Queen's New Year honours list for Services to Cancer Patients. This, we believe makes Benali something of a modern-day hero.

Last May saw Francis Benali, a former Southampton Football Club captain, complete an astounding five Ironman Triathlons within a week – swimming 2.4 miles a day, running a total of 5 marathons and cycling an astonishing 560 miles. Benali’s passion and determination to exceed the 1 million pound mark, began with his first challenge in 2014. This saw him run between every Premier League ground in the UK, covering 1,000 miles and running for 21 consecutive days. Not content with the first incredible challenge, he then undertook a second man powered mission – to visit all 44 Premier League and Championship grounds in under 2 weeks. Running a minimum of one marathon and cycling approximately 75 miles a day.

The physical and mental endurance required to complete these challenges is unquestionable, but Francis, or ‘Franny’ as he is known, takes this in his stride – thoroughly focused on the end game – to raise money and bring hope to those in need.

Boadicea the Victorious are honoured to again be associated with such an inspiring individual and we look forward to celebrating his amazing achievement, as well as to raise more money for Cancer Research UK at Benali’s Big Ball 3; It will certainly be a decadent and fragrant evening!
