Bill narrowed: Lawmakers seeking to eviscerate Louisiana's public records law appear to have reached a compromise after failing to get enough votes for the sweeping changes they originally proposed. The amended bill would exempt Gov. Jeff Landry's office from releasing virtually all communications, plus information that could jeopardize Landry's safety, in response to public records requests. James Finn has this report.
Down on life: Most Louisiana voters don't feel their state has a good quality of life, but a large majority plan to stay for at least another five years, according to a Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate poll. And the younger they are, the more likely they are to leave. James Finn has the details.
Aquarium preparium: Hurricane season begins June 1, and if you haven't started prepping, just know there are 4,000 animals downtown that have gotten the jump on you. Mike Smith has the story.
