Hey!
I've been in my hometown of Columbus, OH all weekend and I LOVE IT.
I'm here scouting some final locations for parts of the Summit of Greatness, which I cannot wait for.
Two of my favorite sights :)
But I had a total flashback when I stopped by this place, which I used to be a bouncer at on the weekends when I was broke and clueless.
And it just reminded me -- ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
TBH I was frustrated and depressed when I worked here.
I was alllll about ego, thinking I was too cool for school.
But thank goodness I knew something ELSE deep down --
I knew I had a bigger purpose.
I didn't know WHAT I was going to do, but I knew I had to do something.
So I took whatever job I could get.
I also learned a TON about other potential opportunities.
*Spoiler alert* It worked.
I figured out my next step.
And then my next step.
Fast forward to today and my purpose is to bring together amazing individuals for the Summit of Greatness.
And with my ego in check, I'm heading back to the Midwest.
I couldn't have dreamed this up back when I was a bouncer.
This concept of "ego" is exactly what I was talking to my good friend Ryan Holiday about on the podcast episode that dropped today.
He just wrote a book about how ego is the enemy.
He said something powerful in it --
"Purpose is better than passion."
Passion can be all-consuming and can knock you off course.
But purpose keeps you focused on ACTION and PROGRESS because it's about something bigger than yourself.
