Note from the Instructor

Enjoy the twists and turns of CDI

By Laurie L. Prescott, RN, MSN, CCDS, CDIP

Summer can be a hectic time. This often leads to a lull in productivity and education. With more and more people going on vacation, it’s easy to lean back and relax for a couple months. The ACDIS Forums, however, show a different story for the CDI community. Even with vacations, etc., the CDI conversation has continued in full-force.

This library of 17 courses provides residents with a thorough grounding in the basics of compliant clinical documentation. Learners will be able to describe how complete and accurate documentation ensures an accurate depiction of a patient’s severity of illness.

Each course is written by physicians, for physicians, and includes case examples. Nine clinical courses cover definitions of approximately 30 diagnoses from evidence-based literature, incorporating specific terminology usage to capture proper severity of illness. Each course is short, averaging 10–12 minutes, and is responsive to mobile devices—specifically designed to be reviewed on the go by busy residents.
