In Q1 2022, FinTechs worldwide raised $31.48 billion and closed 1,085 deals. Although quarterly FinTech funding grew between Q4 2020 and Q4 2021 (QOQ) while economies were recovering from the pandemic, post-pandemic FinTech funding in Q1 2022 saw a downward trend because of a slowdown in investments in Asia. However, quarterly FinTech deals increased 10.36%, from 983 in Q4 2021 to 1,085 in Q1 2022. FinTech investments dropped from $34.04 billion in Q4 2021 to $31.48 billion in Q1 2022, registering a 7.5% negative growth. Further, Q1 2022 attracted $10.49 billion in average monthly FinTech funding and registered an average of 350 deals. However, the number of mega-rounds dipped from 97 in Q4 2021 to 92 in Q1 2022.
