The cities listed below beat the expected job growth, and are ranked by the total number of additional jobs created beyond the average 2%.
1. Dallas, TexasThe city of Dallas added 44,871 more jobs than the expected numbers (based on the aforementioned 2% average). Dallas offers plenty of opportunities for those seeking entry level and executive positions in the petroleum fuel and energy sector.
2. San Jose, CaliforniaSan Jose beat expected job growth by 35,519 new positions. The highest paying jobs in this Silicon Valley city include management and legal positions, followed by computer science based and healthcare roles.
3. Los Angeles, CaliforniaLA exceeded expected job growth by 38,732 new jobs.Personal care aids tend to find plenty of demand for their skills in this metropolitan area.
4. Seattle, WASeattle beat the competitive effect by 38,567 new positions between 2014 and 2015. Already known as a hub for technology development, Seattle also offers plenty of jobs in teaching and real estate. Some studies suggest a shortage in this region of healthcare workers as well.
