R Kelly's attorneys say the R&B singer plans to appeal his 30-year prison sentence.

Nine months after a Brooklyn jury found R Kelly guilty on all nine counts in his sex trafficking case in federal court, the singer was sentenced on Wednesday.

The charges – involving six female victims, including the late singer Aaliyah (who married R Kelly in 1994 when she was 15 years old) – included racketeering, bribery, coercion, enticement and sex trafficking. The accusations against him span from at least 1992 to 2017.

Dressed in prison khakis and dark glasses, Kelly declined to make a statement of his own and did not react as the verdict was handed down.

"At best, I would like to think of Pulse as an experiment that did not work out, and there's an argument for that, but when it turns out to be one of the worst shows I have seen in a long time without it being unironically funny, I wonder if it was really worth it."
