On the front page on December 26, 1992, David Eastman had been charged with the 1989 murder of deputy commissioner Colin Winchester and released on bail ahead of his trial. He was eventually convicted, but after serving 19 years behind bars, Mr Eastman became a free man in 2014 when his conviction was quashed.
