Ragan Launches The Future of Communications Conference
Nov. 5–6 in Chicago

Ragan Communications is pleased to announce the launch of The Future of Communications Conference, one of the most significant gatherings of communicators worldwide. With the role of the communicator at a critical crossroads, hundreds of public relations, communications and marketing professionals will convene in Chicago on Nov. 5–6 for two days of impactful discussion, learning, networking and discovery of the issues, technologies, strategies and tactics that will drive communications success.

Leaders from a range of top brands, nonprofits and agencies, including PayPal, Google, Transamerica, Whirlpool, Porter Novelli, Burson Cohn & Wolfe and Meredith Corp., will deliver the future blueprint for critical areas affecting communicators, from measurement and media relations to crisis management and employee communications, and from brand activism to brand activation. The conference will shine a spotlight on the technologies, tools and strategies that a communicator will need to thrive in a noisy environment where stakeholder trust is fragile and reputation can be bruised by a single tweet.

"Those who are leading the charge in storytelling and managing the reputations of brands and executives need a forum to not only validate the increasingly important role of communications but to cut to the chase of what matters," said Diane Schwartz, CEO of Ragan. "Over two days in the amazing city of Chicago, we’ll be providing hundreds of forward-thinking communicators the insights they need to make their future bright."

Hundreds of attendees will partake in peer-to-peer discussions and presentations that focus on:

  • Ways to protect your organization’s reputation in an era of misinformation and distrust
  • Technologies and tools that are worth the investment (and those that aren’t)
  • Best practices for working with reporters and influencers to drive mentions and clicks
  • How to tell stories across generations through video and beyond
  • Social media strategies that move the needle
  • How to capture the attention of employees who are bombarded with information
  • Current market trends, research, tools and more that can help communicators obtain buy-in and grab a seat at the table
  • Secrets for harnessing relevant data—and measurement that matters
  • Ideas for handling crises that can go viral within hours—or minutes

Presented by Ragan Communications and PR Daily, the leading authorities in PR and communications intelligence, the two-day conference at A.T. Kearney headquarters includes more than 25 speakers, a half dozen networking opportunities and sessions designed for dynamic communications departments. The event is sponsored by PoliteMail & SocialChorus.
