U.S. Rail Carriers Could Now Halt Grain Shipments as Early as Wednesday in Preparation of Friday's Possible Strike
 
The Biden administration urged railroads and unions to reach a deal and avoid a shutdown of the rail system on Monday, but as the country’s two largest rail unions remain at odds with rail companies, a strike is growing more likely. What will it mean for farmers? Max Fisher, chief economist for the National Grain and Feed Association, says any action by railroads ahead of the possible strike this week will cause further delays to an already strained rail system.
