There were some huge snubs with the Emmys nominations this week and I'll let y'all get into all of that here but Black women showed out in a few categories.
"Abbott Elementary" star and creator Quinta Brunson made history by becoming the first Black woman to score three nominations in the comedy category in the same year. "Euphoria" star Zendaya, who scored four nods, made history as the youngest woman to ever receive a nomination for producing. And Sheryl Lee Ralph finally got her first Emmy nomination for "Abbott Elementary" and it's long overdue. Watch this video her son captured of her learning about the news and cry with me.
Everything is trash and Phoebe Robinson made the perfect show for the times: "Everything's Trash." Reporter Ruth Samuel chatted with the creator and star about her new show being a "salve for these times."
