Senate candidate smokes pot in ad

Gary Chambers, the Baton Rouge activist who made waves while running for Congress, is now running for the U.S. Senate. And he has laid out his stance on marijuana by smoking some in a campaign ad. 

This story explains the ad and the message about drug laws Chambers is hoping to send. 

Marijuana is still generally illegal in Louisiana, but the state has expanded its medical marijuana program. In fact, demand for that program is high enough that pharmacies have been running out of supply. 


A violent Martin Luther King holiday

Baton Rouge blew past its record for murders in 2021, and tragically the pace does not seem to have slowed in 2022. On Monday alone, there were five different shootings that left three people dead and four more people injured.
