Times Past

On this day in 1981, the big story was the new addition to the Australian War Memorial, a replica of a 1918 Fokker Triplane worth $100,000 at the time. The plane was a near-exact replica of the plane flown by Baron Richthofen, the infamous "Red Baron". The plane, worth $400,000 in today's money, was donated by Mr Neil Cottee.
