Weinstein's Contract Allowed for Sexual Harassment

The Weinstein Company's 2015 contract with the disgraced Harvey Weinstein says if he gets sued for sexual harassment or any other "misconduct" that results in a settlement or judgment against the company, all Weinstein has to do is pay what the company's out, along with a fine, and he's in the clear. The language also indicates that the manner of Weinstein's firing last week was a breach of contract.

Weinstein Fallout: Amazon Offical Suspended

Amazon suspended top entertainment executive Roy Price as reports resurfaced of harassment of Isa Hackett, a "Man in the High Castle" executive producer who is the daughter of science-fiction author Philip K. Dick. And actress Rose McGowan accused Amazon of canceling a script she had in development there when she told a top executive that Weinstein had raped her. Amazon is developing two series with the Weinstein Company.

The Little Red Pill Being Pushed on the Elderly

The maker of a drug for a rare condition marked by uncontrollable laughing or crying is raking in hundreds of millions of dollars a year as it aggressively targets frail nursing home residents for whom the drug may be unnecessary or even unsafe. Nuedexta is being hawked by a sales force focused on Alzheimer's sufferers, and doctors are getting a cut.

OT Lifts Many New York City Public Salaries Over $100K

Thanks to overtime and other extra pay, a quarter of full-time government workers in New York City make over $100,000 a year. Supplemental pay for these workers is more than three times higher than in the private sector. In some instances, janitors made more money than school principals.

Russian Meddling Included Even Pokémon Go

Russian efforts to meddle in American politics did not end at Facebook and Twitter. One Russian-linked campaign posing as part of the Black Lives Matter movement used Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tumblr and Pokémon Go.
