Tucker Carlson said, “Foreigners come to our country and kill our people,” despite multiple studies showing that criminal conviction and arrest rates for immigrants are well below those of native-born people in the United States.
The list of hateful statements is extremely long — and, extremely dangerous.
Attempted pipe bomber Cesar Sayoc reportedly believed that “‘prominent Democrats were actively working to hurt him, other Trump supporters, and the country,’ an idea that was reinforced by what he heard on Fox News and from the president himself.”1 And the El Paso shooter quoted Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric before killing 29 people in an anti-Latinx rampage — rhetoric that continues to be repeatedly used by Fox News.
