Colorado taxpayers paid more than $522 million to imprison convicted illegal immigrants over the past 20 years, according an analysis of a federal program reimbursing 4 percent of such costs. In 2015, illegal immigrant inmates made up 7.8 percent of the prison population and cost taxpayers $59.7 million. One crime victim says: "Send him back right away. Why should I feed the guy for six years?"
