Senior Valuer and Asian Art Specialist Alexander Clement is looking to consign Asian Art for his next auction.

Alexander heads the Asian department and holds a wealth of knowledge and experience gained with international auctioneers. He will value your Chinese, Japanese and Islamic art for auction sale, insurance or probate. And now a new and exciting Asian Art auction is scheduled for November with many beautiful and valuable objects already consigned.  You can bring your items to Halls for a no-obligation appraisal by booking an appointment at our saleroom or a home visit if more convenient. An exceptional Chinese cinnabar lacquer 'Wang Xizhi and Geese' brush pot, bitong, Qianlong/Jiaqing, of cylindrical form and finely carved with a continuous scene of Wang Xizhi contemplating geese in a pond from his veranda beside a village in a rocky landscape with figures crossing a bridge, the inside and base painted dark brown, 12.4cm high

A large and impressive Chinese blue and white bottle vase, tianqiuping,Yongzheng seal mark and possibly of the period, well potted and of elegant proportions, decorated with a band of lappets under a main body of interwoven lotus, peony, camellia and other flowers finely painted with scrolling tendrils under a delicately shaded ruyi-head collar and and trailing leafy band beneath the tapered cylindrical neck rendered with stylised upright banana leaves under a ruyi and dart border at the rim, the six-character mark in seal script on the recessed base, 55cm (21 5/8 inches ) high

An impressive pair of Chinese famille rose turquoise ground 'lotus' vases and covers, Daoguang seal marks and of the period, of ovoid form, the domed covers with cone finials, finely painted with lotus flowers, peaches, bats and scrolling foliage around gilt 'double-happiness' symbols, within ruyi and lappet borders, all against a turquoise ground, the interiors and bases with a pale sea-green glaze, 28cm high

A Chinese bamboo root carving, Qing Dynasty
Worked in fine detail as a rocky outcrop populated by sages and attendants walking a precarious path amid gnarled pine trees and caves.
