Rebels Continue to Rise, With Sights Set on Highlanders at Home in Round 8
Fresh off back-to-back wins, the Rebels have named a strong match-day team to take on the Highlanders for Round 8 of Super Rugby Pacific at AAMI Park.
The return of Wallabies Andrew Kellaway and Josh Kemeny to the starting XV brings an added edge to the Rebels side, who convincingly defeated the Fijian Drua in Round 7.
The dominant front row of Matt Gibbon, Jordan Uelese, and Sam Talakai have set the tone for the pack in previous weeks and will continue their run of form in the starting side. The Rebels’ scrum continues to dominate each week, with the driving power from the front being used as a weapon to turn over opposition possession.
Rebels Super Rugby Women to Take on the Drua at Home
Melbourne Rebels’ Super Rugby Women’s Head Coach Jason Rogers has announced his match day 23 to take on the Fijian Drua Women’s at AAMI Park.
An unchanged Rebels front row will look to provide go forward for the Women’s side, with Ana Mamea partnering Jiowana Sauto, and Jayme Nuku at hooker.
Sydney Niupulusu moves to the starting side with lock Tiarah Minns. Melanie Kawa starts on the blindside with Sui Pauaraisa making her fifth start for the Rebels on the other side of scrum. Grace Hamilton locks down the 8 position, with her powerful runs set to push the Fiji defence.
The Melbourne Rebels are thrilled to launch their 2024 winter range, with apparel partner Dynasty.
This collection marks a dynamic fusion of style and performance, with each piece meticulously crafted to embody the essence of the Rebels spirit. From sleek jerseys to trendsetting training gear, the range is a testament to innovation and a celebration of Burn City.
