The Louisiana Oyster Task Force fear the work could cost its members their livelihood, and vow a lawsuit. The current plan calls for diverting enough mud-laden water through a levee on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Plaquemines Parish and rebuild about 28 acres of land in Barataria Bay. It's intended to mimic the natural water flow that occurred for centuries.
