RETICENT ON RECALL: Leaders of the campaign to oust New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell submitted their recall petition signatures on deadline Wednesday but refused to say how many they collected. They also refused to provide copies to The Times-Picayune, despite having agreed in court Feb. 8 to do so, unless the newspaper coughs up $15,000.
FREE TO GO: In a city reeling from gun violence, New Orleans prosecutors on Mardi Gras refused in court to accept 15 misdemeanor firearms cases, including one against LSU football player Malik Nabers. They dropped many of the charges on the condition that the suspects not be given back the guns that police seized.
TUCKED AWAY: Unless you follow U.S women’s college gymnastics – or habitually check social media -- you probably haven’t heard of Olivia Dunne of LSU. But on Instagram alone, she’s collecting somewhere around $37,500 for every one of her sponsored posts, making her the highest earner among college athletes in the country on that platform.
