Frequently Asked Questions Q. Will my non-nursing degree loans be considered for loan repayment? A. No. The Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program is required to award loan repayment only for educational loans used to pursue a nursing degree. Q. I cannot find a place in the application to upload one of my documents. What should I do? A. First, verify that all fields in your application are complete. Then, if you are still unable to find an appropriate upload field, please upload the document in the same field as your Proof of Citizenship. Note: You must combine separate documents into a single file before uploading to the field. Only one file can be uploaded into a field. Then, in the Comments section, list the type of document you uploaded. Q. Can I upload an unofficial transcript if it contains all required information, or do you only accept official transcripts? A. We accept both official and unofficial transcripts, but your transcript(s) must contain all nursing-related coursework required to attain your nursing degree. Your loan disbursement dates must also match your school enrollment dates on your transcripts. Q. Will Nurse Corps notify me if something is missing in my application? A. Our program is competitive. We do not notify applicants of missing and incomplete information outside of the application prompts. We strongly encourage you to review and submit a carefully completed application. Q. If I am currently in school, will my loans be eligible for loan repayment? A. The Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program is available to registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses who have completed their studies, have their license, and, most importantly, either currently work in an eligible public or private critical shortage facility, or are nurse faculty employed at an eligible school of nursing. However, the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program offers a scholarship to full-time nursing students and their application will open soon. Start your application today.
