Recruiters comb Upstate to staff offices

Despite record unemployment numbers in 2020, Upstate hiring agencies are scouring the labor pool to fill high-skilled professional positions. National staffing employment reached its highest peak in 10 months in November with at least 48% of staffing companies in the American Staffing Association reporting an increase in assignments each week.

Laurens Electric Cooperative will sponsor four rising high school juniors and seniors to attend a Virtual Youth Experience on June 21-25 to learn more about energy cooperatives and compete for $5,000 college scholarships. To enter, candidates must submit an application by Feb. 5, complete an interview and live in the cooperative's service area in Laurens, Greenville, Spartanburg, Union or Abbeville counties, according to a news release.
