Awesomatix introduce new A800 series optionals Posted: 15 Jan 2020 10:31 AM PST Coming from Awesomatix are several new option parts for the A800MMX and A800FX touring cars. First up is the AM24-20 optional servo holder for all A800 car models in combination with the SB1 single bellcrank steering. The newly designed part combines the servo and steering holder in one single part. Using the part offers a more equal chassis flex as the servo holder does not need to be screwed outside of the chassis centre line. Next up are the AM19-FX-US upper arm holders that provide the exact same geometry as AM19-FX but 0.25mm additional thickness for improved rigidity. Machined from 3mm 7075-T6 high grade alloy the upper arm mounts need 0.25mm less top link ball end spacing to achieve the same geometry as the standard parts. Also new is the AT139 fan mount that was designed to attach directly to the AM177 and AM77FX motor mounts, allowing for easy and reliable mounting of 30mm or 35mm fan units. Designed for the use with ultra low centre of gravity battery packs are the AT144 ULCG battery clamps. They are machined from 7075-T6 alloy and offer a lower profile than the standard plastic battery holders. They are also recommended for the use with the BW22 or BW52 battery holders. Last but not least come the BW10, BW8 and BW7 weights for the AM177 motor mount. The 10g BW10 weight installs on the electronics side of the AM177 mount while the 8g BW8 weight installs on the battery side in front the spur gear. The 7g BW7 weight also installs on the battery side of the AM177 motor mount, however it is placed behind the spur gear. Essex Carpet Clash Rd4 – Report Posted: 15 Jan 2020 03:43 AM PST Round 4 of the Essex Carpet Clash championship was this past weekend, and the team had a slight change up for the driver for this round, running in the opposite, anti-clockwise, direction compared to all previous rounds. After the four rounds of qualifying, it was Stephen Brown in 4WD that took the pole position securing it by TQ’ing all rounds. Mark Lewis was hot on his tail and lines up 2nd on the grid ahead of John Painter. The finals would see a repeat of qualifying where Brown drove away from the field and secured the first two legs and the meeting win. The last final saw another win for Brown, this time by making it through the field only to cross the line 1st on the last lap. The fight was for 2nd and 3rd between Lewis and Jody Howard who fought it out in all legs, with Lewis finishing in the 2 spot and Howard having to settle for 3rd overall. In 2WD it was another competitive day at the top, with a number of drivers all putting in top round scores. William Venables however had other ideas by taking three TQ rounds and giving him pole for the finals. 2nd man to line up of the grid was that of Kyle Moon being consistently at the top of the score sheets also. Ed Kerry had a good day and lined up 3rd in front of Ellis Stafford – both join on points. The finals were always going to be close seeing this at previous meetings and today was no different. All drivers made small mistakes, trying to get the kicker and the small double jump section just right. But Moon was the man who took all three legs of the finals securing him the meeting win. Venables took 2nd, dropping his poor leg 2 score, and fighting back through the field after making little mistakes. Finishing off the podium spot was close again, this time with Stafford and a fast Will Johnson being tied on points with Stafford ultimately taking 3rd.
