2020 Texas Electric On Road Series – Report Posted: 17 Mar 2020 05:33 AM PDT Round 1 of the 2020 Texas Electric On Road Series was held at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in Porter, Texas last weekend. Eventual winner, Chris Adam pulled away early from the pack in the Modified Touring class to cruise for the win as Andrew Doherty defended for his very life for the entire race from Michael Toth, who perhaps was slightly faster, but simply could not find a way around Andrew. The Stock A-main was one of the most exciting races of the weekend. Michael Toth (Awesomatix) pulled away early from the TQ spot only for Andrew Doherty (Xray) to mount an epic charge from 4th on the grid to push Toastie to the limit. In the end just about a second separated them from each other at the finish line as Chris Jones (Awesomatix) finished in 3rd. Super GT had a different format. Four heads up races with different grid position starts each time. in the end, Cristian Tabush from Gizmo USA took the overall win with three wins and one 2nd place from Marcus Williams (Serpent) in 2nd and Chris Jones (Awesomatix) in 3rd after a close tie breaker. Cristian and Christian had a couple of epic showdowns, best of which was the last race won by Jones. In USGT Sophoan Yem pulled away steadily and consistently the entire race and never looked back. Jim Hartnett, who looked to be the fastest in qualifying, winning 2 of the rounds, but mistakes costing him TQ, never was able to mount a challenge. Quietly, Jacob and Eddie Vasquez worked their way into 2nd and 3rd and came away with solid podium finishes. In VTA the top 4 cars were separated by only two seconds after the tone went off. Bad luck for Stuart White dropping to 4th from TQ, but mounting a solid effort to get back to the top. Jacob Aguirre got a little distance, and briefly lost the lead to hard charging Top Qualifier Stuart, only for misfortune to hit when he ran into some trouble. Jacob once again took over the lead and never relinquished it again. Carlos Boy and Jose Gomez battled through it all to come through 2nd and 3rd. The Formula class was mostly led all day by Marcus Williams. Keeoura Sanavong and Chris Jones battled for the 2 spot most of the day with seemingly Keeoura’s car being better up front and Chris’s coming in mid race. Ultimately it was Marcus with the win from Christian and Keeoura. Source: Texas EOS [texaseos.net] The post 2020 Texas Electric On Road Series – Report appeared first on Red RC. |

Posted: 17 Mar 2020 01:48 AM PDT The latest addition to T-Works’ tool line is a ball bearing checker and removal tool. Usable with the most popular metric and imperial size ball races, the tool allows to easily check or remove bearings by sliding it into the ball bearing and spinning it to check the condition of the ball race, while the tool also allows to work the bearing out of its seat, such as uprights, steering blocks or diff cases. Machined from high-quality aluminium and coming with a black surface coating for a long life, the tool also features white laser-engraved markings for easy ball race size checking. RC Maker T4’20 SlimFlex carbon fibre chassis Posted: 17 Mar 2020 01:06 AM PDT Coming from RC Maker and made for the Xray T4 2020 mid-motor touring car is the new SlimFlex carbon fibre chassis. Tested and developed for over six months by RC Maker’s team drivers, the chassis will offer improved handling especially in low-med traction conditions. A new design sees the chassis narrowed all round to provide less scrubbing in corners, leading to increased corner speed. This increases flex substantially, so to counteract this, the designers have recessed the diff and spool cutouts instead of cutting them all the way through. Not only does this bring the chassis back up to the desired amount of flex, it also improves aerodynamic performance by not preventing air from under the chassis being forced up into the car, detrimental to handling. As well as this, RC Maker have removed the holes for the short arm blocks as they compromise the strength and accuracy of the chassis, and also alter the flex characteristics. Screwing weight to the car is now even easier thanks to the added front weight holes, these can be used to screw RC Maker’s “Weight Shift” front weights to the chassis, giving drivers a place to add weight, whilst also being adjustable left/right. All of these features combined make for a chassis which is easier to drive, with more traction and faster lap times, in both Stock and Modified classes. The chassis is precision cut and countersunk in house in Australia from high quality 3K 2.2mm carbon. Xpress XQ10 brass & carbon fibre flex braces Posted: 17 Mar 2020 12:51 AM PDT Xpress have announced the release of new optionals for the XQ10 touring car in the form of brass and graphite lower bulkhead plates as well as a 3mm chassis stiffener plate. Starting with the bulkhead plates, the set includes a brass and a carbon fibre plate that can be individually installed under the bulkhead’s diff or spool area. They help to limit overall flex if desired plus the brass plate adding a certain amount of weight if conditions call for it. Also new is a 3mm carbon fibre chassis stiffener. The slimmed down version can be installed instead of the kit original T-Plate if drivers want to control longitudinal flex only. For flexible mounting options, optional O-rings cane be installed under the brace to retain a minimal amount of flex or it can be secure directly onto chassis for the stiffest setting.
