Tom Yardy wins at Telford Reedy Race Posted: 19 Aug 2020 02:48 AM PDT The Telford Reedy Race was held in the UK last weekend with the event format being based on the famous Reedy Race style of heads up racing – no qualifiers against the clock. 32 drivers were split into groups of four cars and each driver raced against each other driver at least once over four rounds of four minute racing. Tom Yardy was able to take comfortable wins in all of his races on the bumpy astroturf surface. Unlike the normal Reedy race, the format was adapted slightly from this point, with the top eight drivers based on their combined best race results going into two semi-finals and the top two from each race would then contest the main final. Tom started his semi from pole and quickly gapped the field to take the win and with the fastest time from both semis, he would start the main final from the front of the grid. In the final, Tom set the fastest time of the day to take a comfortable overall win from Mathew Dodd and Tony Bishop. Team Associated B74.1 series Team kits Posted: 18 Aug 2020 12:08 PM PDT Team Associated have introduced their new B74.1 and B74.1D Team Kit 1/10th scale 4WD buggies. The off-road RC car racing scene has changed over the past few years, with turf and carpet racing becoming more popular and grip levels at an all-time high. The engineers inside Team Associated’s Area 51 were quick to answer the 4WD class with the RC10B74 Team Kit, a completely new chassis configuration equipped with a long list of features designed to give you the winning edge. The B74.1 platform introduces the use of two separate chassis configurations. The B74.1 is the buggy of choice for high-grip carpet or turf track surfaces with its next-generation Octalock 2-Pad high-load, high-capacity, centre slipper clutch and optimised carpet kit setup. The B74.1D includes a centre differential with 200,000 cSt silicone fluid and an optimised dirt kit setup. Both kits utilise redesigned, low-profile shock towers with shorter shock shafts and bodies to lower the centre of gravity, providing more predictable handling. Also included in both kits are new low roll centre (LRC) C and D arm mounts, 66mm CVA bones and axles, and 2.0mm G10 fibreglass chassis brace supports, which all add up to making the B74.1 and B74.1D easier to drive, and easier to push hard on all track surfaces. Setups and tuning parts are interchangeable between the B74.1 and B74.1D.
