RDRP B6 carbon fibre front bulkhead brace

Revolution Design Racing Products have introduced their new carbon fibre front bulkhead brace that is designed to replace the standard aluminium part on the Team Associated B6 and B6D buggies. Although made for one of the more hidden places of the AE’s sixth generation buggy the brace adds some factory looks and feel while also being highly precise for improved inner hinge pin support.

Risser & Valter win at Halloween Race

The annual Halloween Race was held near Paris, France. Xray’s Nico Risser would set TQs in both the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes and he would also walk away with the win after the 2WD A-mains to leave Stephane Deroche (Team Associated) and Red Obkos (Team Associated) behind in second and third respectively. In the 4WD class Nico had to settle for second after the mains, behind Xray teammate Romain Valter and in front of TLR driver Julien Formentin.

Alexander Landen successful at Winter Cup Rd1

The opening round of the Winter Cup was held at the HB Orion track in the small town of Kallinge, Sweden. The 4WD Buggy qualifying was won by young Malin Karlsen who took a convincing TQ from Jessica Palsson and Alexander Landen, the latter two having nice battles in the qualifiers with the runner-up spot narrowly going to Jessica. These three plus fourth placed Johan Balsberg would be in the mix for the overall win and the opening A-main would start quite uneventful with Jessica having a bobble on the first lap, allowing Alexander by. Up front Malin would stretch the lead and she would take the win with a comfortable margin from Alexander and Jessica.

The second leg saw an early incident where Alexander was taken out, ending dead last but he was able to recover to fourth while Malin made a mistake and was also handed as stop and go so she would finish third with the win going to Jessica followed by Johan who was really picking up in pace. This meant there were four drivers that could take the overall win going into the final A-main. Just before the start of the main, disaster stroke for Alexander when he and another driver collided mid-air during the warm-up laps, resulting in a broken A-arm on Alex’s car. He was given a time-out for the repair but had to start dead last on the grid. The start then again went pretty uneventful with Alexander soon moving up the order while up front the fight was on between Malin and Jessica with both making contact which promoted Alexander in to the lead. With two girls having their own race, Johan was able to take profit of the situation, eventually passing both and going for the hunt of Alexander up front. With the latter having a huge lead Johan could only watch and wait but Alexander would bring home the win and with it the overall victory from Malin in second and Jessica in third.

TLR 22 3.0 Spec-Racer MM 2WD buggy kit

Team Losi Racing have introduced the new TLR 22 3.0 Spec-Racer mid motor 2WD racing buggy kit. Based on the successful TLR 22 3.0, the Spec-Racer kit includes a range of lightweight parts to boost overall performance in the ultra-competitive stock racing classes. The kit utilises a lightened 7075-T6 alloy chassis, a ball diff with aluminium hubs and composite outdrives, aluminium driveshafts with lightened axles, a lightweight motor plate with polycarbonate gear cover, a 3-gear transmission for quicker acceleration and also an ultra-lightweight 0.5mm bodyshell. Also part of package are hate VLA front suspension, aluminium front axles, Gen II 12mm big bore shocks and a transverse battery mounting option. Wit the extensive weight saving work done, with the differential alone sparing about 13g of weight, and an about 30g lighter drivetrain the buggy weights in at under 1500g with a full-size shorty, standard Team Orion electronics and 2.2″ tyres. The kit is set for a release early December.

Schumacher sign Sergi Franch

Schumacher have announced the signing of Spanish front runner Sergi Franch to their touring car team. A very successful on-road driver with many top notch results to his name, Sergi will race the Mi6 in the SNS series and major local and regional races around Barcelona. Sergi had the following to say:

I am very grateful to Schumacher and David Lara for trusting in me for this season, I am convinced that we will be at the maximum level of performance and support at every race and I wish to return this confidence with the best possible results.”

MCD Racing RR5 aluminium option parts

Turkish large scale specialists MCD Racing have introduced a range of option parts for the RR5 1/5th scale 4WD gas off-road buggy. First up is a wheelbase extender kit that enlarges the wheelbase to 610mm. The LWB setup will help with stability in fast corners and on very bumpy tracks and the set includes the lower aluminium extender bracket, a 181mm LWB rear centre driveshaft, a rear chassis stiffener, bodyshell extender and rear wing mounts. The set targets experienced modellers as it requires to modify the existing aluminium chassis in quite a heavy way.

Also new are wide front and rear multi-hole 7075 aluminium shock towers that allow for a wider range of setup possibilities thanks to an increased number of shock mounting positions while a new rear alloy chassis stiffener for standard wheelbase chassis improves handling on high-bite tracks. Last but not least come new upper aluminium shock caps and lower M5 joints. Both offer an updated design for improved durability and reliability and they include the necessary mounting hardware.

Exotek D413 Pro’17 chassis & accessories

Exotek have introduced the Pro’17 chassis kit for HB Racing’s D413 buggy as well as a range of accessories for the respective kit. Starting with the chassis, the set includes a black anodised +4mm 7075 aluminium chassis with delrin side rails that makes the buggy easier to drive on all track surfaces while also helping with easier maintenance. The machined centre chassis uses front and rear alloy back bones that bolt to the chassis and reinforces it without the need of a top plate much like other top level buggies. Raised and angled machined side rails then bolt to the chassis for improved ground clearance, debris blocking and the use of velcro for body retention. Eliminating the top plate structures makes differential access much easier and eliminates the chance of broken or cracked top plates. The added +80g of weight of the chassis lowers the centre of gravity and, while improving flex, makes the D413 faster and more consistent over a full race. The conversion includes the main chassis and side rails, alloy servo mounts, a heavy duty alloy steering crank arm, front and rear alloy centre back bones, hardware and instructions.

Also new and made for the D413 Pro’17 chassis kit are carbon fibre top deck plates. The 2.5mm plates and spacers are the optional top deck plates used for those who do not wish to modify the stock top plates as it is needed with the Pro’17 chassis conversion. Next up is the D413 heavy duty steering crank plate. Made from 7075 aluminium the plate is already part of the above Pro’17 conversion and a nice option part for existing D413’s. The plate is made from high-quality alloy, thicker and stronger than the stock plate for improved durability and on top of this the ball end hole is a single threaded affair for easier installation and strength. Last but not least come the heavy duty aluminium shock caps for the D413 and D216. The design allows to choose between the stock bladder-style or emulsion shocks. An easy bleed screw design makes rebuilding shocks a breeze and the set includes two shock caps, alloy shock stand-offs, machined delrin bushings and small parts.

T-Works X12-series titanium ball ends

T-Works have introduced a set of titanium ball ends for Xray’s X12 series of 1/12th scale pan cars. The ball studs are machined from high-quality 64-grade titanium and they are made to offer a lower weight and cooler looks than the standard steel ball ends. The 10-piece set fits all X12 series cars including the 2016 and 2017 variants and it is available now.

Duratrax Onyx 260 charger & LiPo battery packs

Hobbico have introduced the Duratrax Onyx 260 touch screen charger and two new LiPo battery packs. Starting with the charger, the dual output device is usable with AC and DC input and it offers up to 6A of charge current. The 60W charge power on each output allows to use the charger with up to 6S LiPo and 15-cell NiMH battery packs and the 3.2 inch touch screen helps to program up to 10 battery charging routines, and to view data in numerical form or as colour graphs. The Onyx 260 will hit stores soon.

Also new are two sport LiPo battery packs, a 6000mAh softcase and a 5000mAh hardcase battery. They were developed with Hobbico’s Arrma range of RTR vehicles in mind and they come pre-wired with XT90 connectors. The softcase pack sports dimensions of 126x43x22mm and it is made using 50C cells while the hardcase pack measures 138x46x22mm, utilising 35C cells.
