Edward Sio wins Philippine Nitro Truggy Nationals Posted: 16 Nov 2016 03:42 AM PST The 2016 Philippine Nitro Truggy Nationals were held at the Circulo Verde Track in Quezon City, Philippines. Hot and sunny weather made for a nice day of racing and right from the opening qualifier the race for the overall TQ was on between Edward Sio and Jordan Go. Edward took the opening round but Jordan came out fastest in the following qualifiers, handing him the overall TQ with a time of 7 minutes and 5 seconds. In the A-main, Jordan started from the pole position followed by Edward and Clemen Pancho. During the opening 25 minutes Jordan kept the lead with Edward on the 2 spot, about 20 seconds behind. Nani Tagle was hot on the heels of Edward and both would eventually swap positions at the pit stops until Nani had to retire after a bad landing of his truck. This promoted Clemen into third and up front and with about ten minutes to go, Jordan’s lead slowly decreased from 20 down to three seconds. About four minutes from the end, Edward was chasing Jordan hard and when the latter came in for a final splash and dash, he suffered a flame out but despite a quick restart, Edward Sio (Mugen/Novarossi/AKA) was able to take the lead and with it the win and overall title from Jordan Go (Mugen/Novarossi/AKA) in second and Clemen Pancho (Mugen/Novarossi/AKA) third. Thanks to Edward Sio for the report. FacebookTwitterGoogle+Pin It |
Maclan Racing MRR Team Edition brushless motors Posted: 16 Nov 2016 03:27 AM PST Maclan Racing have introduced the MRR Team Edition electric brushless motors. Based on the popular MRR platform the Team Edition utilises Japanese made steel stator material for the short stack style rotors. Custom-made copper wire also has a higher temperature threshold along with maximum diameter allowed by ROAR regulations. Overall the Team Edition has an average four percent lower internal resistance compared to the standard MRR series motors. Also part of the TE package are all-new hall sensors that are more accurate while offering a much higher speed polling rate which will provide quicker throttle response with higher top speeds. The hand-built motors will become available by late November. Source: Maclan Racing [maclan-racing.com] FacebookTwitterGoogle+Pin It |
JConcepts Torch 1.9” aluminium beadlock wheel set Posted: 15 Nov 2016 01:31 PM PST The Torch 1.9” aluminium beadlock wheel set for Scale | Trail vehicles by JConcepts is extremely versatile for the competitor, but authentic enough to have the detail for a show worthy rig. The 6 spoke wheel is a straight-forward design, incorporating a triangle type spoke around the centre for heavy street appeal. The basic color is black, however, the natural color of the aluminium wheel has been exposed in the spokes which adds a touch of mystery and depth. Around the hub section, a flared boss surrounds the screw mounting area and has been silver highlighted to bring out the luster of an all metal wheel design. The advantage of the Torch wheel set rests in the details. The beadlock wheel has a bolt-in 12mm hex adaptor which features a shim option to increase width by 1mm on each side by adding in the aluminium spacer between wheel and adaptor. JConcepts has included C-shaped brass weights into the package to give drivers a direct option to weigh-down the tires on their rig. The interlocking weights simply slide into the centre channel on the wheel and with the included set screw and L-wrench can be secured together quickly and most importantly, easily. Each package contains two wheels, four aluminium beadlocks, two 12mm aluminium hex adaptors, two 1mm offset shims, two multi-piece brass weights and steel hardware for complete assembly.
