Simon Kurzbuch sweeps Guan Kou Sunpadow Grand Prix Posted: 08 Nov 2017 08:48 AM PST The Guan Kou Sunpadow RC Car Grand Prix was held in Xiamen last weekend and it was Simon Kurzbuch who swept the 1/8th Nitro On-road class. In qualifying Simon took the TQ honors with a good margin over freshly crowned Italian champion Marco Vanni and in the main final Simon quickly stormed away from the rest of the field. Ultimate Racing MZ8 Pro BL motor & MX8 Race ESC Posted: 08 Nov 2017 08:26 AM PST Modelix Racing from Spain have introduced their all-new Ultimate Racing MZ8 Pro brushless motor and MX8 Race brushless speed controller. Starting with the motor, the 690-size unit features a CNC-machined 3-piece 7075 aluminium case with integrated heatsink and it is of a 6-pole design for power and drivability. Strong neodymium magnets ensure high torque and an optimised stator design, dual high-quality ball bearings and pre-soldered quick-change heavy duty connectors make for high reliability. The motor is available in 1900kV and 2100kV variants and it includes pre-soldered wires. Also new is the MX8 Race brushless speed controller. The 6S LiPo-compatible ESC is usable with up to 6-pole sensored and sensorless brushless motors, it offers precise, linear throttle and brake response, multiple protection features and it is easily adjustable using the optional Ultimate Racing programming box. Folman & Gosvig win at DRCMU series Rd3 Posted: 08 Nov 2017 07:15 AM PST Round three of the Danish DRCMU series was held in Randers last weekend. The large track was laid out with grey ETS carpet and after some very competitive qualifiers it was Patrick Folman with the TQ in the Touring Super Stock class from Mike Gosvig 2nd and Kevin Nielsen 3rd. In the A-mains it was Patrick with the win in A1 while Mike came out fastest in A2 to shift the decision for the overall win to the third and final main. A3 then saw again Patrick taking a narrow 0.3s win from Mike while Kevin came in 3rd, only 1.4s short of Mike. Overall it was Patrick with the win from Mike 2nd and Kevin 3rd. In the Touring Modified class it was Frederik Hovgaard with the TQ but after the finals it was Mike Gosvig who came out on top with Frederik 2nd and Patrick Danielsen rounding out the podium result. The race was held on a tight and technical track and in the Formula class it was Simon Horak (Xray) with the TQ and win in the A-main from the Xray duo of Radek Rusmich and Petr Svaták. In the Pro Nitro Buggy class it was newly signed HB Racing pilot Cole Ogden, who scored a popular TQ with his Reds Racing-powered ride. In the 20-minute main final it was again Cole who was able to come out on top, leaving behind Jason Smith (Mugen/Reds Racing) in 2nd and HB Racing/O.S. Engines’ John Michael McGinty in 3rd. Aerox Cougar KC/KD buggy body shell Posted: 08 Nov 2017 05:24 AM PST UK Aerox distributor Schumacher has introduced a new body shell for the Cougar KC/KD 2WD buggy. The body is designed to improve the aero package of the Cougar KD and particularly KC models. It has a super sleek design, is 13 grams lighter than a standard kit body which greatly reduces the centre of gravity and the chances of traction roll on high grip surfaces. Michal Orlowski used it to great effect at the recent EOS in Poland claiming 4th place from 3rd on the grid and he says: “The new Aerox bodyshell feels great to drive. Car is more agile and rolls round less so it makes you feel more confident. That makes you faster on the track. Garret takes JBRL Nitro Series Intermediate Buggy title Posted: 08 Nov 2017 04:40 AM PST RC Tracks of Las Vegas played host to the season finale of the 2017 JBRL Nitro Series and in the Intermediate Buggy class it was Marcus Garrett (HB Racing) with the overall win. Marcus Garret and Cole Jenson (HB Racing) were separated by only 1 point going into the last round of the series. Marcus qualify 2nd and finished 4th in the class which helped clinch the championship from Cole Jenson 2nd and A.J. Schumacher (Team Associated) 3rd.
