Rob Love trifecta at Midwest Indoor Champs Posted: 24 Nov 2017 06:39 AM PST The 6th annual Midwest Indoor Championship was held at Genesis RC Raceway in Minnesota. The track layout was technical with multiple switch backs, a high speed chicane, and high bite black carpet. In the Super Stock Touring class Rob Love (Xray) had his car on rails and was able to secure the overall TQ. Rob was able to get off to clean a start in the main and never looked back. Eric Schneeweis (Xray) and Anthony Swift were racing some hard fought battles with Team Associated’s Eric Swanson and Cole Tollard. In the end Love would take the win with Swanson 2nd Schneeweis in 3rd. In the Stock class Rob Love was able to continue leading the charge with and secured the TQ and overall win. Paul Doyle came in 2nd from Anthony Swift third. The USGT had some of the closest racing of the event. In the main Rob Love bumped on the first corner allowing teammate Eric Schneeweis to get by. This race was very tight and Rob and Eric traded positions a couple of times meanwhile Dan Crain moved into the 3rd position. Ultimately it was an Xray 1-2-3 with Rob, Eric and Dan on the podium. Lefebvre & Kemper win at Gulf Coast Grand Prix Posted: 24 Nov 2017 05:48 AM PST The 2017 Gulf Coast Grand Prix was held at Mikes Hobbytown in Porter, Texas with the race having attendees from all three coasts, California, Florida, and Texas. At the start of the GT8 final, Nick Lefebvre (Xray), coming from 4th on the grid, was able to move into 2nd within just a few laps trailing Marcus Williams who was leading. Marcus and his Serpent would need to make an extra fuel stop during the 30-minute main event. With 7:30 to go Nick made his last stop and came out of the pits just behind the leader. This would give Nick the gap he needed as Marcus was making one more stop and in the progress Nick was able to hang onto the lead and cross the line to take the win. Marcus would come in 2nd from Jeff Whiting (Serpent) 3rd. In the 1/10th Sedan class, Ethan Lefebvre was able to qualify 3rd just behind TQ holder Ron Atomic and 2nd placed Chris Kemper. As the 30-minute main went on, Ron would run into issues and fall back, Ethan and Chris would battle, but Chris was able to take the lead and hold off a hard charging Ethan for the win as Ron had to settle for 3rd. Chris Kidis dominates RCmaniacs Champs Rd5 Posted: 24 Nov 2017 04:40 AM PST The fifth round of the RCmaniacs Championship was held in Argos, Greece. The track was in very good condition although the weather wasn’t good. The fastest class of the weekend, Touring Modified saw Chris Kidis (Xray) having a fantastic racing day. Chris would bring home the win from Sotiris Diamadis (Xray) who tried his best to challenge Chris, while TQ Michalis Kyriazis (Xray) had to settle for 3rd overall. In the Formula class, local drivers Chris Kidis and Sotiris Diamantis battled it out. Ultimately Chris would take another win while Sotiris Diamantis came in 2nd from TQ holder Alexandros Piperoglou (all Xray). The small field of 1/12th cars, who had a maiden outing at the RCmaniacs championship, was lead by Chris, who made it three out of three wins this weekend with Aggelos Mpampas and Sotiris Diamadis rounding out the all-Xray podium. Espinel & Bruck win at FORCE Series Rd7 Posted: 24 Nov 2017 03:38 AM PST River Rat RC Raceway recently held round 7 of the FORCE Series and it was Kayla Espinel (Xray) who took the TQ in the Intermediate Nitro Truggy class. From the tone Kayla would pull away and about five minutes into the race she already was a lap up. With clean and issue-free driving she was able to bring home the win from Xray teammate Jason Frank 2nd and Duane Sizemore (TLR) 3rd. Over in Intermediate E-Buggy it was Christian Bruck (Serpent) with the win from Brandon Denmark (Tekno) 2nd and Kayla Espinel (Xray) who rounded out the podium result in 3rd. Adalberto Pinto takes 200mm win at Portuguese Cup Posted: 24 Nov 2017 03:16 AM PST The Travessas track located in S. João da Madeira recently played host to the Portuguese Cup and in the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class it was Adalberto Pinto (Serpent) who took a maiden win in the nitro class. Adalberto started into the A-main from the 10th spot on the grid following some issues in his semifinal but with a strong pace and on only a single set of tyres he was able to bring home the silverware from Frederic Santos (Xray) 2nd and Pedro Grandao (Xray) 3rd. The car is based off of the Simon Kurzbuch Edition kit and features all parts used by Simon Kurzbuch and Lars Hoppe at this year’s IFMAR World Championship in France that ended with an A-main appearance for Lars and the vice-championship title for Simon. The Team Edition kit includes a range of aluminium options to scrub rotation mass and add stability while brass weights help to lower the overall centre of gravity. A range of titanium parts further reduces weight and hard front suspension plastics help with drivability in high-grip track conditions. They are of a heavy duty design and are available with or without an indicating meter to check the battery’s condition. Xray XB4 medium hardness chassis side guards Posted: 24 Nov 2017 01:32 AM PST Coming from Xray and made for the XB4 series of 1/10th 4WD off-road buggies are medium hardness chassis side guards. Softer than the “H” parts the medium compound side guards allow for increased chassis flex which helps with overall side bite on very low traction tracks.
