Exotek Yeti HDX aluminium chassis set Posted: 01 Dec 2017 12:32 AM PST Coming from Exotek and made for the Axial Yeti 1/10th scale rock racer is the new HDX aluminium chassis set. The heavy duty 7075 alloy chassis will transform any project truck into a true trail dominator. The hard-anodised billet 7075 machined chassis adds about 55 grams of weight to the lowest part of the truck which dramatically lowers the centre of gravity which means less roll overs and increased traction over all terrains. Key design features include a 12mm narrower chassis width and smoothed bottom surface for reduced chassis snagging of terrain. The smooth inner chassis and open rear chassis design makes for less debris collecting and easier clean up after hitting the trail and a separate nose plate makes for easier maintenance. Carbon fibre upper plates add that factory racing look while lightweight, super adjustable and also more secure hook and loop battery straps hold the battery tight. Integrated, machined rear suspension link mounting directly to the chassis helps with precision and durability and a lowered ESC position and alloy servo mounts increase the truck’s performance. Not included in the conversion is the needed Axial 1/10th scale Yeti donor truck. Source: Exotek [exotekracing.com] |

BRCA Formula National Series Rd2 – Report Posted: 30 Nov 2017 11:59 PM PST Round 2 of the BRCA Formula National Series brought the drivers to the fantastic Rug Racers venue in Hertfordshire. A great track layout awaited drivers with a long straight, sweeper and a few tricky chicanes to tackle on the infield. Qualifying ramped up in pace as the track cleaned up and fastest lap times were very close across five to six drivers but who could keep it on the road and out of the barriers for five minutes? It was Luke Lee (Xray) setting the fastest time in all three rounds and claiming pole position with James Greener (Team Associated) in 2nd and Michael Lee (Xray) driving well to 3rd on the grid despite lack of running on carpet. Qualifying top 10 results: In the finals Luke drove well from pole in leg 1 and 2 to claim the overall victory. 2nd was Michael with two solid results and a well driven leg 2 trading lap times with James Greener and finishing just ahead. The final podium spot went to James Wright (Capricorn) who found some good pace in the last round of qualifying and took that it into the finals to improve on his grid position. In final leg 2, seven driver’s fastest laps were within two tenths, this made for some great racing throughout the field. Final results: Next up, round 3 takes the series to Midland Raceway; a permanent UK indoor venue in the West Midlands on Sunday 21st January. Source: BRCA [brca.org] |
