WRC Racing NTX 1.2 1/10th nitro on-road kit

WRC Racing have introduced the NTX 1.2 1/10th 200mm nitro on-road kit. The evolution of the NTX 1.1 features some subtle updates such as new front and rear driveshafts, flanged aluminium wheel nuts, redesigned carbon fibre steering knuckle Ackermann plates, as well as reinforced drive belts, and new aluminium roller belt supports. Otherwise the kit was left untouched and it should hit stores soon.

VRP MBX8 aluminium & carbon fibre shock towers

Coming from Vision Racing Products and made for the new Mugen MBX8 1/8th scale buggy is a range of aluminium and carbon fibre shock towers. Each tower is precision CNC cut in house at VRP and by following the exact geometry of the original stock towers and thanks to optimised material distribution, the towers are made to look great and provide exceptional durability. Both rear towers feature a machined “M” in the centre to add a special touch of bling and the 7075 aluminium front and rear towers are black anodised and re-opted with silver edges for that distinct VRP look.

Exotek introduce new EB410 option parts

Exotek have introduced a range of new option parts for the Tekno RC EB410 1/10th 4WD buggy in the form of rear locking hinge pins, heavy duty steel and brass suspension blocks as well as an aluminium steering rack. Starting with the rear hinge pins, the titanium locking/captured hinge pin set with 2mm hex head eliminates the problem of the rear hub hinge pins sliding out of the arms during impacts. The design securely holds the hinge pins and hubs in the rear arm, thanks to the captured pin and lock nut design.

Also new are heavy duty brass C and steel D suspension blocks for the rear end of the EB410. The brass C block comes black coated to reduce corrosion and it weighs in at 18g with the additional mass improving rear traction. The part can be combined with Exotek’s 40g weight set. Next up and made of hard steel and coming black coated to reduce corrosion is a 13g heavy duty D block. The suspension hanger lasts much longer than the alloy block and resists being worn away at the bottom due to abrasive track conditions. Last but not least is a precision-machined 7075 aluminium steering rack for the EB410. The reinforced design minimises any extra cut outs to increase strength, yet only weighs 6g. The part gives the EB410 a smooth factory racing look thanks to the polished surfaces and Exotek’s special glossy navy blue anodising.

Xray Racing Series UK Rd4 – Report

Round 4 of the Xray Racing Series UK was held recently and in the 2WD Modified class it was Jamie Beasley with the TQ and win. Jamie did this all while setting a staggering fastest lap pace of 13.88 seconds while the second fastest driver’s lap pace was 14+ second. Dom Nunn came in 2nd at round 4 while Tony Bishop rounded out an all-Xray top 3.

The 4WD Mod Buggy class was as interesting to watch as always as those cars are so fast and they can lay the power down so quickly they literally fly round the track. Elliot Taylor made a guest appearance in 4WD this time, and the BRCA 8th RallyX National A-finalist wasn’t hanging around for anyone easily winning and setting TQ – it is still interesting to see that Elliot’s fastest lap of the day was only a mere (just under in fact) 2/10th’s faster than Jamie’s 2WD. Robert Shaw ended the day on the 2 spot from Steve Bunning in 3rd.

The Stock class was again won by Nick Priest, a nice TQ and 1st place giving him a decent lead in the overall Championship also. Kirk Beasley was 2nd qualifier but had “one of those races” in the finals and pulled out the final with suspected car damage after a heavy car-on-car incident finishing “knee high” in the wall at the end of the main straight. Daniel Hopkins ended up 2nd a fair distance behind Nick and Anthony Drayton in 3rd.

In Stadium Truck Daniel Hopkins and Greg Hill have had a series long battle and this round was no different. And while Greg sat out the final qualifier to rebuild his 2WD Mod ride, Daniel took the overall TQ with the fastest time of the day. In the final it was a matter of who’s crash cost less time as both Greg and Daniel had one big crash and long marshalling each, in the end Daniel took it by just over 2 seconds from Greg 2nd and Brandon Young 3rd.

Xray XB2 & XT2 graphite C-hubs

Xray have introduced graphite composite C-hubs for the front end of the XB2 and XT2 1/10th 2WD off-road vehicles. Very hard yet durable the graphite-reinforced parts are less flexible than the medium and hard compound hubs, making them ideal especially for high to very high traction condition where the parts can improve handling and predictability. The C-hubs are available individually for the left and right hand side of the vehicles.

DE Racing EB410/TLR22-4 Speedline front wheels

DE Racing now have dedicated Speedline front wheels for the Tekno EB410 and TLR 22-4 1/10th scale 4WD buggies available. The are usable on both vehicles and sport the needed off-set to achieve the desired overall width. The dish wheels are available in fluorescent yellow, white and black colour and they come in sets of four.

FX Engines K302 .21 3-port off-road engine

Coming from FX Engines is the new K302 3.5cc 3-port nitro off-road engine. Follow-up model to the K301 the K302 is based on the K3 engine but incorporates numerous improvements and refinements that focus on lower fuel consumption and a more linear power curve. To achieve this the crankshaft and carburettor were redesigned and improved and the power plant is built using a ceramic main bearing and a diamond-coated crankshaft. The included 7-rib engine head has lower weight than the standard engine head and provides a lower CG for increased car stability on fast tracks. Significant improvements were also made in the production and assembly processes, with new and even more precise quality inspection. All parts are individually measured and then specially selected and matched to increase engine reliability, performance, and quality.

Traxxas TRX-4 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT RTR truck

Traxxas have officially introduced their forthcoming TRX-4-based Ford Bronco Ranger XLT ready-to-run scale trail truck. The truck features portal axles for enormous ground clearance and a scale appearance, heavy duty steel frame rails, floor pans, heavy duty steel links, a dual battery track, and aluminium scale shock absorbers. The power comes from a Titan 21T 550-class brushed motor and it is controlled by the new XL5 VH brushed speed controller, a waterproof metal gear servo and the TQi 4-channel radio system that allows to access low and high speed transmission settings as well as the diff lock capabilities right from the transmitter. Scale chrome-plated rims, grippy multi-terrain tyres and the stunning Ford Bronco body shell, available in two designs, round out the package. The truck is set for a release at the end of February.

Team Associated ProSC10 RJ/Rockstar & AE Team RTR

Coming from Team Associated are the ProSC10 RJ/Rockstar and AE Team 1/10th 2WD RTR short course trucks. The truck features a rear motor short-course chassis that utilises many of the same parts from the widely successful RC10SC5M platform. Adjustable aluminium big bore coil-over shocks, a sealed-gear differential, and heavy-duty CVA driveshafts are all features that come standard. A powerful water-resistant Reedy electronic speed controller and 3300Kv electric motor power the ProSC10 for high-speed fun. To handle the power, the truck comes equipped with realistic wheels and multi-terrain tyres specifically made to handle any off-road condition. A 2.4GHz 2-channel radio system featuring a DVC (Dynamic Vehicle Control) receiver also comes standard. Protected by the water-resistant enclosed receiver box, the DVC system improves stability in all terrain conditions by automatically counter-steering when the vehicle starts to slide. With a metal-gear high-torque Reedy servo rounding out the electronics package, the ProSC10 is nothing short of a success in RC off-road racing. The truck is available in two body shell variants, one resembles RJ Anderson’s RJ/Rockstar truck while the other comes in the AE Team livery. Both will become available by March as RTR and also as full RTR combo variants including a Reedy Compact Balance charger and Reedy 7.4V LiPo battery.

Rico Kröber teams up with WRC Racing

WRC Racing from Italy have announced the signing of Germany’s Rico Kröber to their factory team. A 1/10th on-road specialist, the former Capricorn driver will campaign WRC’s STX electric touring and new NTX nitro touring cars at races all over Germany. Rico has the following to say about his move:

After three years as Capricorn factory driver I am proud to join the WRC Racing Team and would like to thank Franco Ghiotto, CEO of WRC Racing, for his confidence. I would also like to thank Dr. Harald Hergarten, who works intensively in Germany to create the team and support his drivers as well his help in the continuous development of the products. I am looking forward to exciting and successful years in my new team.
