Reedy HV 30mm motor cooling can Posted: 06 Jun 2018 08:28 AM PDT Coming from Reedy is their new high-voltage compatible 30mm motor cooling fan. It comes with a handy 195mm extension and is simple to install by plugging directly into the receiver where it operates off BEC voltage. Because it has HV capability, it can also be soldered directly to ESC battery terminals to achieve 24000 RPM and maximum cooling. Cutini doubles at South American Off-road Champs Posted: 06 Jun 2018 07:55 AM PDT The South American Off-road Championship was held in San Jose de Mayo, Uruguay last weekend. The weekend started off wet but the organisers made their best efforts to ensure good track conditions. Agustin Cutini (Mugen/Novarossi) would double TQ the Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy classes and he also came out on top after the A-main, leaving behind Nicolas Bregante (Xray/Novarossi) and Lucas Pons (Mugen/Ninja) in Buggy while the Truggy podium was completed by Federico Davico (HB Racing/Reds Racing) and Nicolas Bregante (Xray/Novarossi). Trinity introduce new B6.1 option parts Posted: 06 Jun 2018 07:24 AM PDT Trinity have introduced a couple of aluminium, carbon fibre and titanium option parts for the Team Associated B6.1 buggy and other B6 based kits. First up is a 3-gear laydown/layback transmission motor plate. The 3mm motor mount features a build-in spur gear guard and heatsink grooves for increased cooling and airflow. The item is usable with the B6.1, B6.1D, T6.1 and SC6.1. Next up is a 13g aluminium ESC mounting plate made of 2mm aluminium. The optional plate provides quicker installation and removal of electronics for easy chassis cleanups, it comes including mounting screws and it usable for all B6.1 and B6 based kits. Also new is the adjustable carbon fibre battery brace for the B6.1, B6 and B6D. Machined from 3.9mm carbon fibre the brace offers five holes for adjustable battery mounting positions and to comes including four aluminium standoffs and mounting hardware. Last but not least are 10mm and 14.5mm offset titanium shock standoffs for all B6.1 based kits. Both strong and lightweight the items help to reduce overall weight while looking the part. Posted: 06 Jun 2018 06:45 AM PDT Round 2 of the 2018 RC Lemans Series was held in Düren, Germany recently. The track recently underwent some refurbishment with new track barriers fitted and in time for the event the club also laid down a fresh coat of sugar water to up the traction. Saturday kicked off with the practice rounds in beautiful weather and after a couple of runs the traction came up really nicely, making for low lap times and smiling faces all around. Sunday race day again started off in sunny weather, however there was a chance of rain in the afternoon. In the Modified LMP1 class it was a 4-horse battled for the overall TQ between Timo Schad, Tim and Kai Altmann as well as Reinder Wilms and after three rounds of intense qualifying it was Timo on pole followed by Kai, Reinder and Tim. In the ever-close LMP2 Stock class, the main battle was between the winner of the opening race of the season, Rainer Schad, and Mathijs Hermens. Rainer took Q1 and Q3, Mathijs Q2. After three rounds, it was Mathijs who took pole position with a margin of less then one second over Rainer followed by Michel van der Velden. During the lunch break, dark clouds began to form over the track and just before the opening final could get underway, heavy rain started and the drivers reached for their rain cars. In the LMP1 class, Reinder Wilms dominated the first two finals to take his first win of 2018. Timo Schad took the win in the third final, landing him on an equal number of points with Patrick van Nieuwenhuyse. With his win in the last final, Timo win the tie-breaker and took 2nd overall with Patrick 3rd, claiming his first RC Lemans podium. In the Stock class, the battle between Rainer and Mathijs continued in the rain, with Rainer coming out on top with wins in A1 and A3. Mathijs took 2nd, with Sascha Lennartz in 3rd. Robert Batlle TQs & wins at French Mugen Cup Posted: 06 Jun 2018 03:48 AM PDT The 2018 Mugen Cup was hosted by the French Reims EMC club last weekend, attracting some of Europe’s fastest Mugen drivers to compete against a strong French contingent. In the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Spanish frontrunner, Robert Batlle with the TQ from fellow countryman Juan Carlos Canas. After the combined triple 12-minute A-mains, of which two counted for the overall results, it was again Robert who would hold the upper hand as he brought home the win some 19 seconds in front of Juan Carlos as Frenchman Eliot Marcon came in 3rd, another 24 seconds down. Lehmann wins at West German IC Track regionals Rd2 Posted: 06 Jun 2018 02:55 AM PDT The second round of the West German IC Track regionals was held at the Dormagen track last weekend. In the premier 1/8th class it was class newcomer, Benjamin Lehmann with a popular win. Already during the qualifiers he showed a good pace while also being the only driver to pull 20 laps in five minutes without having to refuel. Christian Wurst came in 2nd ahead of Frank Schewiola. In the final, Benjamin decided to change only the rear right tyre at the first fuel stop, while the competitor decided to change all four tyres about mid-race. It was clear early on that the race should be decided in the final minutes. Thanks to faultless driving, Benjamin was able to bring home the win followed by Christian Wurst only three seconds behind and Daniel Toenessen completing the podium a lap down. Tamiya Dancing Rider RTR set & chrome accessories Posted: 06 Jun 2018 02:11 AM PDT First seen during the recent Shizuoka Hobby Show and officially announced now are Tamiya’s forthcoming ready-to-run version of the T3-01 Dancing Rider trike as well as a load of chrome-plated accessories. As for the RTR kit, the 3-wheeler comes factory assembled, with a silver-painted body shell as well as 2.4GHz radio system. It is understood that, apart from being already built, the vehicle is of the same specification as the kit variant. New on the option part side of things and usable for both the kit and RTR kit are the four new chrome-plated sets that are available separately and as gear case A-parts and frame C-parts while the chrome plated front wheel and the M-Chassis compatible 11-spoke rear rims round out Tamiya’s bling package for the popular trike. BMT 984 hard anodised aluminium front axles Posted: 06 Jun 2018 01:30 AM PDT BMT have introduced a set of hard-anodised aluminium front wheel axles for the 984 on-road car. The 7075 alloy wheel axle shafts are a direct replacement for the stock parts and they are designed to scrub both unsprung weight and rotational mass, resulting in improved suspension efficiency and quicker spool-up. Additional machining further scrubs weight and different sets of cross pin holes allow to use a fresh pair of holes once the actual start to show signs of wear, improving the lifespan of the parts. Czech 1/8th Off-road Nationals Rd2 – Report Posted: 06 Jun 2018 01:01 AM PDT The second round of Czech 1/8th Off-road National series was held in Zidlochovice in the two classes of Nitro and Electric Buggy. The Nitro Buggy main final was pretty much a done deal for Martin Bayer while the 2nd place was fought for between Jiri Mara and Max Götzl. The latter however wasn’t able to go Jiri’s speed and had to settle for 3rd ultimately. Nitro Buggy top 5 results: In the E-Buggy class Peter Lonscar brought home the win in the A-main finals from Ales Bayer 2nd as Max Götzl scored another 3rd place finish this weekend.
