Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer Pro-Scale LED light kit

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 08:27 AM PDT

Coming from Traxxas and made for the Unlimited Desert Racer is the Pro-Scale High Intensity LED light kit. The included Traxxas High Voltage Amplifier packs the muscle to efficiently power the 204 individual LEDs in the kit while minimising losses from excessive current and heat. The tightly regulated output provides stable lighting performance, without flickering or dimming as the battery voltage changes. In another Traxxas first, the smart brake lights work when brakes are applied in both forward and reverse directions. This eliminates the common problem with generic aftermarket systems that turn on the brake lights while reversing. The kit includes dual straight LED bumper-mounted LED light bars, a curved roof light bar, multifunction red and amber brake light/class light bar, a high-voltage 8-channel power amplifier for intense, brilliant LED lighting, and a regulated output for stable lighting performance with no flickering or dimming as the battery voltage changes. Rather than draw valuable power away from the BEC, the power amplifier uses the Power Port on the VXL-6s ESC to tap power directly from the batteries. The power amplifier transforms and regulates battery current to for reliable high-power performance. Three different lighting modes on the amplifier let owners control which lights illuminate. The Traxxas Link App helps to further customise the lighting modes to the required specifications or to turn the lights on and off directly in the app. The kit includes all mounting hardware to make installation a breeze. The LED Light Bar Kit comes as a complete set or as individual components allowing Desert Racer owners to select the exact setup to meet their needs.

Posted: 31 Jul 2018 06:02 AM PDT

The Amstetten track in Northern Austria played host to a sizzling hot round 3 of the Austrian IC Track Championship. Before the start of the 45-minute A-main it was Lubi Paunovic who called for a time out and the short period was also taken benefit of by Nejc Mihelic who faced engine troubles in the warm-up period to the A-main. The short time out allowed Nejc to swiftly swap his car’s engine. The final started without Nejc on the grid who restarted his car in the pit and followed the field close to one lap down. At this time Gerhard Kandelhart was leading the race closely followed by Herfried Pucher who recovered after a difficult weekend and found back to speed in the final. After 15 minutes, Pucher took over the lead until the 30-minute mark where the leading cars of Pucher and Mihelic decided to change the outside tyres only. In this phase Mihelic recovered from the difficulties in the beginning and closed the gap to Pucher. In the end Mihelic was able to bring home the win some three seconds in front of Pucher and Paunovic, another two laps down.

1/8th Nitro top 3 results:
1. Nejc Nihelic – ARC/Picco/Runnertime/Ufra
