ArndtCraft 30mm motor cooling fan brace Posted: 17 Sep 2018 07:05 AM PDT Coming from ArndtCraft is a 30mm motor cooling fan brace that was designed to prevent fan breakage in extreme off-road conditions. The brace is ideal for all WTF-style fans and it attaches from the bottom, air flow outlet side of the unit. The 1mm carbon fibre plate is very light of weight and it will improve the fan’s life when running on carpet or astro turf tracks with wood or concrete base. It supports the fan’s centre section, as well as fan housing structure, to prevent fan centre section, and housing, from deflecting under hard impact, which can result in fan breakage. Nuno Duraes takes Portuguese 200mm title Posted: 17 Sep 2018 06:43 AM PDT The ARMAIA track played host to round 5 of the Portuguese IC Track Nationals this past weekend. In the 200mm class it was Carlos Manuel Rodrigues who set the pace as he took the overall TQ after winning the second, third and fourth qualifying round from Q1 winner, Nuno Duraes. After the semifinals however it was Nuno with the pole position for the 30-minutes long A-main, but due to clutch issues Duraes had to ask for a time out, meaning he had to start dead last. By the first round of pitstops Nuno had already recovered to 2nd thanks to a brilliant start and he started to chase Carlos Manuel for the lead. In the closing stages Nuno ran out of tyres and it looked like Carlos would bring home the win but a mistake of Carlos during the final fuel stop meant Nuno would be able to take the win with a narrow 1-lap margin from Tomas Andrade while Carlos Manuel had to settle for 3rd overall. Thanks to the win, Nuno was awarded with the 2018 National Champion title. Thanks to Nuno Duraes for the report. |

After the first day of racing on the carpet track that was built to emulate the Tamiya track, it was the Awesomatix of Freddy Sudhoff that led the way with 3 wins and a 2nd place from the four rounds of heads up racing. Sitting second after the first day, Prumper would produce a clean sweep of his races to register 4 wins on Day 2 that would put the Infinity driver at the top going into final day of action. Sunday was to be a tougher day for the German with his two dropped scores coming in Rounds 10 & 12. Collecting a total of 6 wins however, Prumper took the overall win by 4 points, the next 3 drivers all ending the event on 19 points. Also with 6 wins, Yokomo’s Ronald Volker got 2nd on the tie break, with Sudhoff completing the podium and Rheinard finding himself 4th. Unlike the International Reedy Race, the European edition also ran the heads up format for Pro Stock with 21 starters in the event. It was to be an Awesomatix domination. Hoppe & Kröger win at German 1/8th IC Track Nats Posted: 17 Sep 2018 03:05 AM PDT This past weekend the German 1/8th IC Track Nationals were held at the Minidrom Ettlingen track in the South of the country. The crowd saw an exciting Class 1 final as it was a close battle for the victory between Lars Hoppe and Oliver Mack from the beginning of the race. Due to different fuel and tyre strategies the lead swapped numerous time during the final. Lars opted to change only the outside tyres at the third pitstop while Oliver changed all four tyres about mid-race. Before the final round of pitstops Oliver took over the lead with fresher tyres but Lars stayed behind closely. Lars entered the pits for his last stop first and a super fast pitstop of Thilo Tödtmann put some pressure on team Mack. A few laps later Oliver had his last pitstop and he returned to the track just behind Lars. For the final laps the distance was only a few meters but Lars put his head down and crossed the finishing line in first position to take his maiden German Championship title with Oliver Mack coming in 2nd and Merlin Depta rounding out the podium. In the Class 2 it was young David Kröger with a great drive in the final after winning the semi-final with a gap of four laps over the rest of the field. A small mistake in the first lap of the main final dropped him to the last position but for the rest of the race he showed a flawless performance. A few minutes before the end of the race David took over the lead and never looked back to take the German Championship title Class 2 as well as the Junior Champion title.
