Michal Orlowski sweeps Dart Cup Rd6 Posted: 25 Sep 2018 04:50 AM PDT The sixth and final round of the popular Schumacher Dart Cup 1:10 off-road series was held this past weekend at the Astroturf RC Track in Serock, Poland. Mother nature presented some unusual conditions for the drivers. The race started in hot summer weather with temperatures in the high 20°C range on Friday while on Saturday morning temperature dropped more than 10 degree Celsius and was only around 13°C. On midday the rain started and the rainy, windy autumn weather continued until the end of the race. What followed was a never ending search for the best tyres and setup for the changing track conditions. The race attracted international top driver Michal Orlowski who would sweep both the 2WD and 4WD qualifiers and mains by taking overall TQ and race wins in both classes. Behind Michal it was an interesting battle for the 2nd and 3rd podium spots, as the wet track made the race very challenging. Iwo Czarnecki and Bartek Kramza as well as Sebastian Migal battled nose to tail. The race order changed many times as the slippery track would often catch the drivers out. After three finals in the 2WD class it was Iwo Czarnecki who took the 2nd place with Sebastian Migal in 3rd. 2WD Buggy top 5 results: The 4WD class saw the opposite order with Sebastian Migal 2nd and Iwo Czarnecki in 3rd. 4WD Buggy top 5 results: Stock 13.5T top 3 results: Truck Pro top 3 results: Truck top 3 results: Thanks to Maciej Orlowski for the report. |

Posted: 25 Sep 2018 01:00 AM PDT The fifth round of the 2018 Speed King Tour was held at the Twin Ring Honguu outdoor asphalt track in the Aichi prefecture this past weekend. Classes held would be Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Oval. After a two month break the race attracted a lot of racers from all over Japan and the race format was as usual with triple qualifiers and a Super Lap session for the top 5 driver to determine the overall top qualifier. Destiny driver and round 4 winner Yugo Nagashima took the Modified class TQ after the three regular qualifiers and he also clocked the fastest run in the Super Lap race. Yokomo driver Ryosuke Yamamoto came on P2, while Infinity’s Akio Sobue took P3 on the grid. The Modified class A-main started without troubles, however TQ driver Yugo lacked some pace and so the remainder of the field freight-trained behind him. When Ryosuke and Akio tried to catch the leader both crashed, giving Yugo some room the breathe. After this incident, Jin Sawada and Shin Sawada moved up to P2 and P3. Yugo finally took a comfortable win while 2018 Japan EP Touring National Champion Jin Sawada finished 2nd with his Infiniy while his brother Shin snatched the final podium spot. International German Pro10 Championship – Report Posted: 25 Sep 2018 12:10 AM PDT The 29th German Pro10 Championships were held at the EVMC Velp club in The Netherlands this past weekend. The race was held in Modified and Sports classes and it was not only open to German drivers but also for entries from surrounding countries, making it an international event. The weather forecast for the weekend was mixed with only the practice runs and the first qualifier being held on a dry track. The opening Modified class qualifier was lead by Tim Altmann from Reinder Wilms and Tobias Weist while the Sports class saw reigning champion Andreas Dick, newcomer Dirk Elsebusch and local hero Mathijs Hermens on the top spots. Q2 started off dry but it soon started to rain and it was decided to re-run the round. The weather mixed up both classes and so the timing sheets saw four different TQ holders in the Modified class with Christian Fischer TQing Q2, Reinder Wilms coming out fastest in Q3, Tobias Weist reigning in Q4 and Patrick Vannieuwenhyse topping Q5. Modified qualifying top 10: In the Sports class Andreas Dick also won Q3, Q4 and Q5 for the overall TQ while Sascha Lennartz came in P2, having an eye on the title. Junior Florian Kölsch did a great job in securing himself the final spot on the A-main grid in severe track conditions. Sports qualifying top 10: For the finals the track conditions were at their worst with lots of standing water on the track, making car preparation and smartness on the track a key element for success. Tim Altmann was the man to beat with wise tyre choices and smooth throttle control. After winning A1 and A2 for the overall he secured his sixth German Championship in front of German Vice National Champion and 40+ Champion, Roman Krejci. Reinder Wilms secured himself the final podium spot after winning A3. Modified final results: While the Modified finals seemed smooth sailing for the winner, the Sports finals were highly entertaining. Erwin Peter would take a pretty easy win in A1 in front of Andy Dick while Reiner Schad came out fastest in A2 in front of Erwin. This meant A3 would bring the decision with Erwin being in the better position. With a win in A3 it was Andreas who as also in the mix but with a 2.5 seconds slower time in the tie-breaker it was Erwin Peter with a popular overall win for his maiden German Champion title. Andreas Dick had to settle for 2nd from Reiner Schad 3rd. Sports final results: Young Florian Kölsch had a cracking A-main, taking the overall 6th place and with it the German Junior Championship. Thanks to Tobias Weist for the report. |
