Perfect results for Sobue & Ratheisky at OneTen Rd1

Leg 2 of the Sweep Modified class saw Akio Sobue complete the clean sweep by taking the win and with it the overall win of round 1 of the new for this season OneTen Series. The Infinity driver never put a foot wrong the whole day and despite some moments while lapping traffic he put in the perfect run to win, once again in front of his team mate Jin Sawada. Still running on the same set of Sweep handout tires since the beginning of the day, he will continue to use them for tomorrow’s second round of the series. It was not a good final for Jan Ratheisky however as a coming together with the barrier coming on to the straight saw his Xray sent into the outside wall, causing extensive damage. The crash promoted Gary Huang to 3rd with Rocket Zhang from 6th on the grid to 4th.

OneTen A-main Leg 1 wins for Sobue & Ratheisky

It was business as usual in the opening leg of modified A-mains at RCI V2 this afternoon for Akio Sobue as he took an easy win ahead of Jin Sawada and Jan Ratheisky, with the front of the field maintaining their grid order throughout the 4 minute final. Breaking away early the Infinity driver was never challenged at the front, his only concern coming while working his way through traffic on this tight track.

Sobue & Ratheisky take TQ honours at OneTen Shanghai

Qualifying has ended for the opening round of the OneTen series and it is Akio Sobue who will start this afternoon’s triple A-mains from pole position. Completing a clean sweep of qualifying the Infinity driver took all 3 rounds, with round 2 seeing him finish ahead of team mate Jin Sawada and Xray driver Jan Ratheisky, with 2nd and 3rd positions reversed in the final round. Gary Huang was again best of the rest, with Nicholas Koh set to complete the top 5 in front of an improving Rocket Zhang.

OneTen Qualifying Rd1 goes to Sobue

The opening round of qualifying for the Sweep Modified class at the OneTen series presented by Infinity has been completed, the 6 minute run being topped by Japanese driver Akio Sobue. The Infinity driver headed compatriot and team mate Jin Sawada by some 5 seconds with Sobue the only driver to get 35 laps around the technical but short lap at RCI V2. German Xray driver Jan Ratheisky would claim 3rd in front of team mate and newly signed Xray factory driver Gary Huang, with another Xray, that of young Nicholas Koh claiming 5th.
