Tom Firsching wins at Northeast World GT-R Champs Posted: 17 Oct 2018 08:03 AM PDT The 3rd Annual Northeast World GT-R Championships were held at CRC Raceway in Rome, New York last weekend. With over 30 entries in World GT-R only, the race was well attended with drivers from Ohio, Canada, Western New York as well as a great group from central NY in attendance. In addition to World GT-R, drivers would do battle in 1/12th scale, Legends and Euro Trucks. The race featured CRC’s race point format that allows any racer to be on top by winning their heat with drivers of near equal ability. Race control re-sort every round by the fastest three consecutive laps so that every heat is stacked with drivers of near equal ability. To win the event overall, the drivers in their respective heat have to be beaten. The scoring system rewards consistency and “driving to your ability”. Going into the final round, the format produced a number of racers that could win the overall. In the end it was Tom Firsching (CRC) with the overall victory from Julianna Roman (CRC) and Kevin Large (Speedmerchant). Dan Holcomb (CRC) and Christopher Howard (CRC) would round out the top 5. Infinity IF14 alloy spring cups & low friction belt Posted: 17 Oct 2018 06:13 AM PDT Coming from Creation Model are two new optional parts for the Infinity IF14 electric touring car. The first of the new releases are aluminium shock spring retaining collars. Made of precision machined aluminium, and featuring a black-anodised finish, they are extremely light and help the shock absorber and the shock spring work more efficiently. They are supplied in a set of four. The other release is a new rear wide low friction drive belt. Wider than the previously released T105 low friction belt aimed at Stock drivers, the wider option is perfect for use with high power motors. Due to the low friction characteristics of the product, the drive belt has a shorter life than the standard drive belt included in the IF14 kit and when in use with a modified motor requires regular maintenance and replacement as necessary. Bakla & Stone win at NWS Pro-Line Challenge Posted: 17 Oct 2018 03:25 AM PDT The Australian ACT track recently played host to the NSW Pro-Line Challenge with the largest entry for the 2018 season. The event was held in several classes and using 10-minutes qualifiers and 45-minutes A-mains. Nitro Buggy was a 2-horse race, as Ari Bakla picked up TQ after winning all three Qualifiers, while local fast guy Shane Kelly had some super fast lap speed and was 2nd with Craig Laughton in 3rd. In the main Ari pulled a little gap but would be closed after the first pit stop, for the next 25 minutes Ari and Shane were never more than 2 to 3 seconds apart, switching the lead until Shane had a huge crash in one of the worst areas of the track for a marshal to get to. This gave Ari a large lead which he would protect and cross the line with the win from Shane Kelly 2nd and Craig Laughton 3rd. E-Buggy ran 7-minute qualifiers and triple A-mains. Shane Reid took TQ, Lhor was 2nd and Michael Stone in 3rd. It was a 2-way battle for the mains as Lhor had gear mesh issues. Shane had a nice lead after Michael had a long crash, but once Mic settled in he was able to crawl back the 10-second gap to the Shane, taking the lead on the last lap and the win in A1. A2 was almost a carbon copy, but with a smaller gap this time around. Michael was able to take the lead with a couple of minutes to go and never looked back. Ultimately it was Michael Stone with the overall from Shane Reid 2nd and Source: Xray [teamxray.com] |
Posted: 17 Oct 2018 03:07 AM PDT The fourth round of this year’s Sunday Race Cup was held at the HSH race tracks in Dintikon, Switzerland. 22 drivers in three categories signed in, making for good racing in perfect weather conditions. In Race Truck it was a clear win for Tobias Kunz in front of veteran racer, Luigi Manzo and Micha Kühne. Tobias had a perfect day with the TQ and wins in all three A-mains. Micha Kühne looked like he would wrap up the runner-up spot, however a crash in the final A-main meant that Luigi hold the upper hand to finish 2nd overall. In the Formula class it was Mario Hässig taking the win in a very fair race. He could take the TQ and the first two A-mains while behind him it was a battle between Adriano Manupella, Andi Frattaroli and Sämi Waser. By winning the third A-main it was Adriano taking the 2nd place in front of Andi Frattaroli. Last but not least come the Yokomo Racing Academy Kids, the strongest class of the weekend. This time and with a very strong driving Lucas Stiasny could take the TQ and first a-main win. Then after having some problems in the second A-main the race was open again but he would hold his nerves to strike back in A3 to take the overall win. After a very strong performance Calvin Kunz took second and Livio Manupella finished in 3rd. Source: HobbyShop Hässig [hobbyshop.ch] |
