| Team Silverback Dancing Rider LiPo batteries Posted: 02 Nov 2018 12:32 PM PDT Team Silverback have introduced two new LiPo battery packs for Tamiya’s Dancing Rider trike. Available as 3000mAh high-capacity or 2500mAh high-performance pack, the batteries come pre-wired with a T-type battery connector. The 3000mAh pack measures 57.5×31.5x31mm at a weight of 111g while the 2500mAh battery measures 66×29.5×29.5mm at a weight of 119g. | Posted: 02 Nov 2018 09:00 AM PDT The opening round of the HIT Series was held in Holesov, Czech Republic last weekend. The event was held in several electric off-road classes and in Touring Modified it was Matej Sulc who lead the way from Kuba Simurda and Karel Kratochvil. The finals didn’t change anything as Matej won all three finals for the win in front of Kuba Simurda and Karel Kratochvil. Karel Kratochvil was the man to beat in the Touring Stock class as he left everyone behind with the TQ and win in front of Ales Pelikán and Matej Babovsky. Radek Cernohous and Ivo Gombik completed the top 5. Lukas Hoch again was in a league of his own in the Formula class. Svetlin Douhlevski came in 2nd, however he would loose an average of ten seconds on Lukas in each run. Ladislav Holasek completed the podium in 3rd. | Reds Racing WRX HE 3.4cc nitro engine Posted: 02 Nov 2018 07:50 AM PDT Reds Racing have released their new WRX High Efficiency 3.4cc nitro off-road engine. The new engine has been specifically developed to noticeably reduce fuel consumption, allowing drivers to get more than nine minutes of runtime. The power plant uses the experience gained with the WRX Corsa Lunga engine and features a reduced 3.4cc displacement, a special High Efficiency crankshaft with a restrictor to get improved fuel mileage and it comes with the new VCX3 carburettor. The engine is best used with the 2113 off-road pipe in combination with an L manifold. The Tracker wheel discs are replacement options for the Dragon wheel sets to provide a new look or to simply change the colour scheme to existing wheels. Inspired from Weston Anderson’s Bog Hog, the Trackers sport a burly, angular steel-like build similar to versions utilised on the real deal. The injection-moulded, 2-piece design item, features a full-face that covers the wheel and is secured from the inside-out. The Tracker set is unique and includes a cover for the wheel nut that creatively interlocks with the disc to create a completely closed off mega truck look. | SMJ introduce new TC spring & accessories Posted: 02 Nov 2018 04:40 AM PDT Japanese brand Speedmaster Japan have introduced their new progressive T2.5-2.8 1/10th electric touring car spring as well as a range of accessories. Starting with the spring, the T2.5-2.8 adds to SMJ’s existing Stealth line of springs and it is made of 1.4mm diameter wire. The total length is 20mm meaning it can be used with most of today’s ultra short shock absorbers. As for the accessories, SMJ have announced the release of a 20-piece pack of carburettor return rubber bands. A common sight in nitro racing the rubber bands are wrapped around the needle housing and carburettor ball joint and doing so will ensure the carburettor closes and brings the engine to its idle setting in the event of signal loss or battery failure. The set contains ten grey and black rubber bands each, ensuring a stealthy look compared to the more common red or orange bands available in grocery stores. Also new is an 8-piece set of foam-clad patches for 6mm body mount posts. The patched will both reinforce body shell mounting holes while also reducing vibrations. | Tamiya introduce new T3-01 optionals Posted: 02 Nov 2018 02:10 AM PDT Coming soon from Tamiya is a range of new option parts for the popular T3-01 Dancing Rider trike. First up is a set of hard and soft front springs that help to fine-tune the characteristics of the vehicle. The set includes a pair of soft and hard springs with colour coding as well as 3mm X-rings and a portion of grease. Also new is a set of colour-coded rear springs in soft or hard configuration, again used to fine-tune the trike’s suspension to various track conditions. Last in the line of suspension tuning options is a medium and hard steering spring set that helps to set the steering characteristics. Colour coded for easy identification the set also includes sponge tape. Other new parts include an aluminium swing shaft set for weight-saving and smoother function as well as an aluminium front axle set, again saving weight and making for a more agile handling. Last but not least comes a soft compound front tyre that helps to find grip in lower traction or temperature conditions.
