Ryan Cavalieri sweeps Team Associated Top Gun Shootout Posted: 03 Dec 2018 11:02 AM PST The 2018 Team Associated Top Gun Shootout was held at SDRC Raceway in San Diego, California this past weekend, attracting many of the fast locals. The premier 2WD Open Buggy class saw Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri taking the win from Jake Mayo and Broc Champlin (both Team Associated) in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Over in the 4WD Mod Buggy class it was again Ryan Cavalieri with the win, steering what is understood to be a prototype of the forthcoming B64.1 buggy. Ron Devoll came in 2nd and Jake Mayo rounded out an all-AE top 3 podium. Offering two independent 100W charge outputs for 1S to 6S LiXX batteries the AC-powered charger is decked out with a reverse LCD that offers improved visibility even outdoors while touch buttons allow for easy navigation through the menu options. Built-in fan units and a highly efficient heatsink are keeping the charger cool and the firmware offers features such as Bluetooth smartphone connection, real-time cell monitoring, and scan-to-go function for easy and secure battery charging. The charger measures 127x115x71mm, it weighs in at 561g and is good for up to 15A charge current. Gunnarson & Berg win at Winter Cup Rd2 Posted: 03 Dec 2018 05:43 AM PST The second round of the Swedish Winter Cup was held at the Klippan RC Club this past weekend. Jesper Rasmussen was the man to beat in the 2WD Modified Buggy qualifying as he made a clean sweep after the triple qualifiers, leaving behind Victor Gunnarsson in 2nd and Hampus Berg in 3rd. In the 4WD Modified Buggy class it was Hampus Berg with the TQ from David Hassel and Alexander Landen. The 2WD Mod Buggy A-mains then saw Victor with the clean sweep for the overall as Otto Ausfelt came in 2nd with two 2nd place finishes. Jesper Rasmussen had to settle for 3rd overall after some mixed results. The triple 4WD Modified A-main events were a pretty entertaining affair with David Hassel taking the win in A1, Hampus Berg won A2 and Alexander Landen came out on top in A3. Overall it was Hampus Berg with the win, tie on points with David Hassel in 2nd. Alexander Landen would end the day on the 3 spot. Wynen & van Helmond successful at IIOC Rd2 Posted: 03 Dec 2018 03:41 AM PST The second round of the 2018/19 International Indoor Off-road Cup was held at Model Indoor Oss in the Netherlands this past weekend. The race was held in 2WD Modified Buggy and 4WD Modified Buggy classes and in 2WD Mod Buggy it was Thibault Jacqueloot (Team Associated) with the TQ after the qualifiers as Jens Becker (Xray) and Wesley van Helmond (Schumacher) came in 2nd and 3rd respectively. After the triple A-mains however it was Wouter Wynen (Team Associated) who would hold the upper hand with 1-2-3 finishes as Jens Becker, scoring two 3rd place finished in A1 and A2 as well as the win in A3 had to settle for 2nd overall, tie on points with Wesley van Helmond. The 4WD class had Jörn Neumann taking the TQ from Schumacher teammate, Wesley van Helmond but after the triple A-mains it was Wesley on top as Jörn came in 2nd and in front of Nigel van Katwijk (Yokomo). Kodera & Sugiura win 2018 JMRCA 1/10th Buggy titles Posted: 03 Dec 2018 03:06 AM PST The JMRCA 1/10th Buggy National Championships were held at the iconic Yatabe Arena this past weekend. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class it was Kaito Kodera with the overall TQ and he would also be on top after the A-mains to take the championship title. In the 4WD Modified Buggy class it was Yusuke Sugiura who took the TQ and win for another national championship title. Meen Vejrak TQs & wins at EastRC Invitational Posted: 03 Dec 2018 02:20 AM PST The 2018 EastRC Invitational was held at the EastRC Speedway in Jakarta, Indonesia this past weekend. The race attracted regional racers as well as guests from Thailand, Singapore and any other cities of Indonesia. The 2-day race saw five qualifying rounds and triple finals and it was run in the four classes of Touring Car, Front Wheel Drive, M-Chassis and Dancing Rider and in the premier Touring class it was Meen Vejrak with the TQ and new track record after the five hard-fought qualifiers in which Charlee Phutiyotin, Dominic Quek and Bowie Ginting all scored round TQs. The opening A-main then was a really close and tight one as the top 4 went away from the field to fight for the lead. In the end Meen, Charlee and Bowie finished within less than a second of each other. A2 almost delivered the same story before Charlee and Dominic made contact, which let Meen and Bowie fight for the lead. Meen finally secured the overall win after winning A2, 0.4 seconds ahead of Bowie and five seconds clear of Surikarn who recovered from 7th. With Meen sitting out A3, it would be the decisive round for the remaining podium spots. Dominic passed Charlee to spread some gap while Izzah made a full use of his new tyres to pass Bowie for 2nd place. ISTC Modified final results: Thanks to Bowie Ginting for the report.
